Most colleges and universities have a program requiring a minimum of 4 full years of academic work leading to the Bachelor of Music,  Bachelor of Arts or B.S. in Music.  Your first 2 years can be completed at Lincoln Land Community College, with credits transferring to the university of your choice.

A music major must be able to perform proficiently on at least one instrument or voice and must have a basic working knowledge and proficiency at the keyboard.

Two associate degrees are offered in music at Lincoln Land Community College:

Associate in Arts Degree (AA.Music)
The music curriculum is primarily designed for students who plan to enter the teaching or performing fields in either vocal or instrumental music. As the curriculum covers course work for only the first two years of a four-year program, students are given individual advisement in arranging courses to meet the requirements of the institutions to which they plan to transfer. In addition, individual music courses may be of interest to others as either general education electives or for pursuits of individual interest.
