Private
vocal or instrumental lessons
are offered for both
degree-seeking music majors and the "hobby" student. Students
learn the finer points of vocal or instrumental performance during
lessons with one of LLCC's highly qualified instructors.
The
student must provide any instrument other than a piano. Students
have a weekly half-hour or hour lesson and enjoy individual attention
in a private studio. Every lesson is a positive learning
experience that develops students' technical and musical abilities
through repertoire assignments appropriate to each student's skill
level. Degree-seeking students work on college-level repertoire
for recital performances. Non-music majors perform in an informal
recital at the conclusion of each semester.
To register for private
applied music, prior arrangements must be made
with the Fine Arts and Education Office by calling Glenda Thomas at
(217) 786-2318. In addition to tuition, an additional lab fee is
required.
